David draws from a deep well to guide the student toward proficiency. Whether the music is classical, jazz, modern songwriting, or something of a mix between, David finds ways to teach deconstruction, reassembly and interpretation. His approach is both disciplined and thought provoking. I have always anticipated each lesson with excitement and left each lesson feeling deep grooves scored into my brain. 

David understands that instruction is about relationship, trust, and support.  He is intuitive, creative, attentive, and always meets me where I am at, and I am an unpredictable force of nature most of the time.  He is calm, quick, and drives each lesson with focused intent mixed with light humor.  I highly recommend. 

My kids have known the piano with David coaching them since they were in elementary school, and all three of them are in College now.  They grew immensely under his tutelage into excellent musicians but most importantly excellent young adults.   One is a music minor and all three are in business.  I am convinced their abilities would not be as sharp had they not had David and the piano all those years.
